My sweet boy, Colin. He turned two this year which went regrettably almost unnoticed due to Jack being born and his mother recovering. Somehow, I don't think Colin really minded. (not that a two year old would know any different anyway. It's just another day to them) He is my little introvert. He always seems to be lost in his own little world. At his first b-day party, we had a houseful of people and he kept retreating to the back bedroom to escape the crowd. He seems to be a one-on-one type of guy!

We find him in his room by himself all of the time looking through his books. His favorite are the Veggie Tale books. He has started to bring them to us to have us read them to him. That is a treat! Will never would let us read books to him. He also loves to draw. He doodles tiny little circles all over his magnadoodle. I think he has advanced doodling for a two year old! ;-)

Colin has also discovered the joy of singing this year! He walks around the house singing with all his heart. His favorite song lately has been "Jesus Loves Me." It's funny because he pretty much sings jibberish until he gets to the last word of the phrase, but he is right in tune and rhythm with the song. I love to hear him sing!

Colin loves his big brother. I am so excited for their relationship to develop and hopefully grow into a lasting friendship. Colin is about as opposite of Will as you can get. His laid back attitude puts up with a lot from Will lots of times. He is not afraid of Will's temper. The louder Will gets, the harder Colin laughs at him or simply yells right back. It's really pretty funny to watch! He loves to watch Will play his computer games. He loves to wrestle with Will and chase or be chased around the house. He laughs at all of Will's silliness. They are a great pair!

Colin was slow to warm up to Jack. After all he was taking his place as the baby of the family, but he got through the transition rather quickly. He finally decided that Jack was worth taking an interest in. He loves to love on Jack and that is what is scary. You see protective gear is needed to handle Colin's loving. He loves you with his whole body. He rubs his face against yours and Jack has been no exception. We constantly have to remind him to "be gentle!" One time I left Jack on my bed looking at the fan. Suddenly I heard a squawk from my bedroom. I ran in to find Colin completely on top of Jack. He didn't know he could have hurt him. He just wanted to snuggle!

Another time, I was letting Jack cry himself to sleep in his crib. The next thing I know, Colin runs into the room and climbs up on his crib trying to put the pacifier in his mouth. What a sensitive heart he has!

Colin loves to sleep. He started putting himself down for naps when we got him his big boy bed. Every mother's dream!! HA! He is often found with a little toy figure in his left hand. He has a few select ones that he rotates every so often. He sucks his middle two fingers and twirls his hair with the other hand. Peter noticed today that he has a small bald spot in that area. Wow!

Colin is a big time daddy's boy. Let's just say that Peter often feels like he has a stalker! He throws a fit at the bathroom door when Peter takes a shower. If he notices Peter leaving to go somewhere it is a total meltdown. He just plain old loves his daddy. Nothing wrong with that!

I would never agree that I have a favorite son because I don't, but there is a soft spot in my heart for Colin. He has such a sweet way about him. I think it is because he reminds me so much of Peter. He is a lot like him and what I would imagine him to be like when he was a child.

Ok. Two down. One to go. Coming up next the birth of our baby, Jack!
Where do I start with Will? He has definitely grown up quite a bit this year. He turned four years old, but seems to be going on 13. Seriously. It is really weird. He already has that teenage attitude. On the other hand, he keeps us laughing. He really does have a quick wit about him. He is very funny and comes up with some things that leave us not knowing what to say.

As you can tell, he loves super heroes and Star Wars. Cannot get enough of them. PJs, action figures, movies, costumes, pretend play, conversation... you get the picture? It has been pretty fun to watch him.

Colin is getting older and has become a playmate for Will. He loves Colin very much. It is really cute to see him being protective of him like a big brother should. One time at the doctor's, Colin was getting ready to be swab tested for Strep Throat. Will got upset and tried to cover his mouth so the nurse couldn't get to him. Then another time when Colin was getting shots he said, "I can't watch!!"

They also love to wrestle. Sometimes with daddy, but sometimes just the two of them. I heard them down in the basement one day laughing and carrying on. I kind of wondered what was going on , but didn't hear crying or screaming so I didn't investigate. A little while later Will comes up the stairs shirtless with red marks all over his chest. I asked him what they were doing. He said, "Oh we were just wrestling. I was calling Colin my master." (I am assuming this is related to Star Wars) Then I hear Colin coming up the stairs. Will says, "Here comes my master!" Ok. Just Will calling Colin his master is funny enough to me, but then Colin appears and he is shirtless with red marks all over his chest and back too! I don't even want to know what happened! I do know that Colin does not know how to take off his shirt. Will helped him out with that one!

Will also became a big brother to Jack this year. He was very interested in him from the beginning. He asked to hold him a bunch. The first time he held him in the hospital he said, "Maybe we can we keep him!" How sweet! I'm sure that Jack will get in on the fun with Will and Colin soon enough!

Here is Will with Peter. They are buddies. That is for sure. One day Will looked at Peter and said, "Daddy, you're my best friend!" What a compliment! Peter taught Will how to play computer games this year. Yes, he created a monster! He loves to play and is proud that he can do it all by himself! I'm reluctantly proud too. I can't stand the computer games. There are a lot of buttons to push for different things. I don't know how to do it at all! Too complicated.

Will continues to be a cuddler. He still loves to play with my hair while he sucks his thumb. He's not totally grown yet. Sometimes it is scary how much alike we are! Perfectionists, hot-tempered.... of course I notice the bad traits! I'd like to think that I have taught him some of his jokes, but I'm not sure. I think Veggie Tales has a big influence. He is a fan of the physical humor like me. I sat and watched him crack up at Veggie Tale outtakes. That's something else like me. He loves to watch the special features on DVDs. Drives Peter nuts!

Will tried his hand at WeeBall this year. He did not care for the outfield, but he loved to bat! He really seemed to enjoy himself for the most part. He loves being around other kids and this was a great opportunity for him to meet some new friends. One time as his name was called to go up to bat he told everyone in the dugout, "Ok everyone, you say GO WILL!" What a nut!

Ok. It has taken me all day to write this much which I realize is quite a bit. I'm sure there will be more Will stories in future blogs. I need to get them written down or I will forget. Looking forward to another fun filled year with Will and his adventures!

Ok, I had to create a blog in order to look at Shannon's so I figured I would give this blogging thing a try! I have been reading others' blogs for weeks. I love reading about others' lives and seeing pictures. Some people I know and other's I have gotten to know just through the web. Weird, I know. Peter says it's a form of voyeurism. He's probably right. I have always been nosy.

For my next entry, I am going to follow Shannon's lead and write about each of my children. That is something I have thought about doing this year anyway. I should have started this with Will when he was smaller, but at that time, I figured I would always remember all the details of his growing up. Yeah, right! Nowadays, I'm doing good to remember yesterday!

Ok, keep an eye out for my next entry about the first of "My Three Sons".....
